Join us on a journey through the lives of artists Carl and Karin Larsson, from 1853 to 1928. From the bright and dark years of their childhood, through their time at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, to their years in Paris and the village of Grez-sur-Loing where Carl proposed. Then back to Stockholm and Gothenburg before they finally settled at Lilla Hyttnäs in Sundborn, where they lived with their seven children in a home characterized by art, gardening, and self-sufficiency.

This 1916 newsreel provides a vivid picture of the Larsson family. You meet them in everyday situations: guests arrive, lunch is served in the garden, Carl sketches and rows with his grandchildren. The powerful spring flood rushes over the courtyard, where Carl waves and rows in with his boat.
