Carl Larsson-gården is beautifully situated in the idyllic village of Sundborn, 13 kilometers outside Falun.
It takes about 15 minutes by car from central Falun to Sundborn. For detailed directions, see the map here.
Parking May 1 – September 30:
During high season, Carl Larsson-gården’s parking is located at the very beginning of the village on the right side, opposite the gas station, when coming from road 862 from Falun. Expect a 10-minute walk from the parking lot down to Carl Larsson-gården.
October 1 – April 30:
During low season, parking is available just above Carl Larsson-gården adjacent to the Hyttstugan restaurant.
Take the train to Falun and then take a bus or taxi to Sundborn from Falun Central Station.
In the municipality of Falun, bus services are operated by Dalatrafik. Buses 234 and 235 to Sundborn depart from Falun Resecentrum or Knutpunkten. No buses run during the weekend.

There are several taxi companies in the municipality of Falun. Available cars are often parked outside the railway station. You can also pre-book a taxi through Engkvists Taxi in Sundborn.
The nearest airport is Arlanda, approximately 230 kilometers from Sundborn. Car rentals are also available there.

The entrance begins with a small downhill slope immediately inside the gate, which is always open during our opening hours. The upper part of the slope is paved, after which it transitions into gravel.
Unfortunately, the house is not adapted for people with mobility impairments and is therefore not suitable for visiting with a walker, wheelchair, or stroller. The house has high thresholds and a staircase to the upper floor.
In the garden of Carl Larsson-gården, most paths and trails are accessible with a walker, wheelchair, or stroller. The courtyard and paths are surfaced with gravel.
There is an accessible parking space to the right just before the entrance to Carl Larsson-gården. It is not possible to drive all the way down to the courtyard.
Toilets, including an accessible toilet, are located adjacent to the shop on the grounds. There is also a toilet at the parking lot at the beginning of the village, on the right side opposite the gas station, which is open year-round.
With the Carl Larsson app, you can experience most rooms on the estate digitally using 360° technology. Explore paintings, photos, and objects in 3D and enjoy an introductory film, historical images, and stories. The app is available for purchase via the App Store and Google Play.
To ensure a pleasant and safe experience for everyone at Carl Larsson-gården, there are a few things to keep in mind before your visit.
Large handbags, backpacks, umbrellas, and ice cleats are not allowed inside the house. We do not have the facility to store or lock up large bags or outerwear.
Dogs are welcome in the garden, as long as they are on a leash, do not disturb other visitors, and you pick up after them. However, dogs are not allowed inside the house.
Photography is not permitted inside the house, but you are welcome to take photos outdoors and in the garden – please show consideration for other visitors.

There are several swimming spots near Carl Larsson-gården suitable for both adults and children. Whether you want to take a quick dip, swim with the family, or enjoy nature by the water, there are several options within comfortable walking distance of the estate.
The swimming area is located below the parking lot by the road, and a fairly steep and long staircase leads there. There are changing rooms, a barbecue area, and a dry toilet, as well as both a lawn and a sandy beach with shallow water. It is approximately 1.5 kilometers walking distance from Carl Larsson-gården.
Below Sundborn Church, there is a cozy little swimming spot. Walking distance from Carl Larsson-gården is approximately 600 meters.
If you want to take a quick, refreshing dip in the Sundborn River, there is a jetty in the water just outside the fence at Carl Larsson-gården. Follow the signs for the canoe trail from the parking lot at Hyttstugan. The jetty is about 200 meters walking distance from Carl Larsson-gården.
